Jasper Engine SV211?

I am trying to get back on the water. (Had an ‘85 2001 for 17 yrs).


Appreciate the group’s wisdom...
I am looking at a 2007 SV-211 with a Jasper 350 (330HP) engine with 37 hours. Total time
on the boat is ~380hrs. A few questions:
- Is the Jasper block a good motor? (All new Accessories, wires, hoses, etc. were replaced)
- Should I seek a similar boat with the original PCM Excalibur 330? (Some avail with 800-1400 hours)
- Does the Jasper block hurt resale value?
- What other wisdom / experience should I factor in?

I am assuming based on your location that the engine was replaced due to cold damage. While I don't have personal experience, I have heard others that have used Jasper blocks and had good luck. I can tell you that with decent maintenance that the factory motors should not have any problems going 2000-2500 hours.
