93-96 Sport - Radio blanking plate

I need to replace the backing plate where the radio originally mounted, it looks horrible. But I'm not putting a head unit back in...I'm just going to install a Roswell Cybox and have a bluetooth only system. NP has this: https://www.nautiqueparts.com/produc...o-dash-pannel/

But I need to be solid with no hole at all. Anyone done this? Other idea I have is to fabricate some sort of box behind the hole to slide wallet or phone into...Maybe integrate a wireless charging pad. Anyone have any idea on how to do that and if the new metal plate would support the weight?

When I added ballast to my Super Sport, I made my own plate with black HDPE. It doesn’t look factory but It looked nice. I just used the original as a pattern and a jigsaw to cut and sanded with a dremel. I’ve attached pictures to you can see it.

I did it on my '98 Ski Nautique. Worked out great. The plate was custom-made by a friend at Nautique though, and they didn't make any extras.

I would Message the guy doing the Longhorn Nautique Resto. I think he had a whole new dash molded, and maybe his guy can do something like that.
