Greg can dish it out but can't take it. "surfing can be significantly more fuel efficient compared to wake boarding"...

Surfers screw up the water for everyone else on the lake for 3 to 4 times longer then wakeboarders...and of course use up at least as much gas as wakeboarders...

And of course he uses more words per thought then most people..

Not to break up the love fest going on here, but from experience for both surfing and wakeboarding we have found real fuel usage depends significantly on each individual boat and ballast used...

For an h6 and g23 with full ballast+ and equal engine run time we see wakeboarding using around 30% more fuel than surfing.

For us in real usage in a given day with same hours of boat running time we find almost no difference. For example, on average we are wakeboarding with less ballast than surfing. In addition, the variations in start/stop/quantity of restarts, etc play a factor.

I put around 150 hours on my 2016 G21 H5 the one summer I owned it. I averaged 4-6 gph depending on weight. I always had an extra 400lbs of lead. We mostly surfed and typically loaded ballast as we pulled out of the marina. Great boat.
