Which backing pad for buffing gel coat?

I've been using my porter cable 7428, red clay bar, and constant pressure foam pad for years to buff scratches out of my boat. After hitting our new 2002 196, the pad is gone. I tried to order a new one but I guess this one isn't made anymore. What foam pad are you guys using with a clay bar to buff out scratches? Thanks

I use the Yellow Harbor Freight foam pad with some compound. Then a polish with the same Yellow pad. To finish off I use a boat wax (Meguiar's Marine/RV) with the black pad which is a finish pad. I also use a spray bottle of water to keep it wet the whole time.

Wool cutting pad works well at taking out imperfections in gelcoat. I’m a big fan of menzerna 400 heavy cut. Haven’t found anything else that cuts out imperfections while still leaving a shine.
Top it with jescar power lock sealant and it’s money.

Thanks for the feedback and I'm interested in the menzerna 400 heavy cut pad.

I currently use a white or brown (tripoli) coumpound bar and I hold it against my foam pad to apply it to pad and then it's ready to use on boat. It works awesome at taking scratches out. I need to find a foam pad that will work the same.
