    Alternator wiring short

I have a 2013 G25 with the 550 motor. A few weeks ago the batteries we're not being charged so I assumed it was a bad alternator. I put a new one on and it was not the problem. I found that the 100 amp fusible link coming off the alternator was blown. So I replaced that with one that could be reset just in case it ever blew again. It worked fine for about one day then the next day it started to trip the fuse every 10 min and now it will last about 3 min. I've checked all grounds any suggestions.

The fuse may have been a "Slow Blow" fuse, so could handle some spikes here and there. The "Resetable" or breaker is probably on a hard 100 amp trip, so will do so whenever you get over 100amp. Now that your batteries are low its probably spiking the system, and that breaker cannot handle it.

I'll charge the batteries up tonight and try that. The batteries were showing 11.8 to 12.0 volts do you think that could cause that? I'm assuming I should go back to the "Slow Blow" fuse.

I am only assuming its a slow blow fuse, but if it is i would say you need to go back to one. I do not have that boat or motor, so i cannot say for sure.
