Where are the knock sensors?

I have a 06 SANTE with a ZR6. I am getting a Knock Sensor alarm on the dash. This is the 3rd time out since winterizing was done in the fall and today was the first time we got the alarm. I am hoping the threads just need a good cleaning - I just don't know exactly where the sensors(s) are. From the 2006 ZR6 manual, it looks like I pull the plastic cover off the top of the motor, but after that, I'm not sure if it will visible right there or if I need to disassemble more? Looking for any guidance.

I did some research today and I believe I located the Knock Sensor on the starboard side of my ZR6 (see pic). If someone could confirm, that would be great. The parts manual says there are two of them on the ZR6, and I looked in the same location of the port side and did not see one.
Can anyone confirm there are two of them on the ZR6?
Does anyone know where the other one is located?

edit: This looks to be the coolant temp sensor - not the knock sensor.

Unfortunately they are deeper then that. You have to remove the entire intake assembly to get to them. These images are from the parts manual. The knock sensors are number 7 in the first image. Part number is R020043.

So it looks like I have some disassembly to do. I'm very mechanically inclined (but I have never done this job obviously). Any approx idea how long it should take?

Also, I have seen other posts where people say they get the alarm when the pull a wakeboarder or put load on the engine. I get it the second I press start (before the engine even starts). That leads me to think that a) the code is stored and needs to be cleared OR b) the sensor isn't connected.

konck sensors under manifold the good part manifold comes off easy dont need to pull injectors the coil packs might be in the way

Do I need to replace the intake manifold gasket? It looks rubber and possibly reusable?

No the LS series of engines have rubber gaskets most times you can reuse.

The good news is that today’s exploration found a disconnected wire near the potentiometer. Reconnected it but the alarm was the same. I used codemate to reset the codes and all is well. Phew! Removing the intake looked no fun.
