Hey there. New to the form and the nautique family. I recently picked up a 2007 nautique 236. Absolutely love the boat. It been a bit of a project but just about got it where I want it. The boat it’s self had about 900 hours. The motor was replaced and has about 200ish. my Vdrive is leaking oil. I believe from the case gasket and also from where it bolts to the transmission. I’ve pressure washed everything down and have pin pointed it to those locations. I believe anyways. I’ve checked all the lines to make sure they aren’t leaking. Also checked all the nuts and bolt to make sure they are all tight. The Vdrive also seems to have some water mixed in it as well. Not a lot, just enough to make it alittle milky. I have changed all the fluids. The Vdrive does looks better after changing it. Not sure if the boat took on water at some point in its life and it go sucked in there somehow or if I have a bad seal. My question is, and I’m sorry if this has been discussed before, how hard is it to remove the Vdrive? What am I gonna find when I open it up? Will the gears all fall out and have prices all over like when you break into a watch..? Is it easy enough to replace those gaskets? Any where else it could be leaking? I’m pretty handy around the garage so I’m not worried about the project. Just want some advice on what I’m gonna be getting into. I asked my local nautique dealer for some guidance or part numbers but they were no help. They said they don’t work on boats that are over 10 years old. Plus it’s $150 an hour labor. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Also the motor is a zr6 and has a pleasurecraft power plus Vdrive 1.48 ratio.
