So I have a 2020 G23 and was completing my 25 hour maintenance check which includes checking the spark plugs. Had an interesting issue occur that I can't rectify. Each spark plug wire lead consists of a female metallic receptacle inside a rubber 4 inch long boot that fits over the spark plugs. While trying to re-install the leads on the spark plugs it appears 2 of my female metal receptacles got pushed out of the rubber boot by about an inch. Now they don't make contact with the spark plugs before the rubber boot bottoms out on the base of the engine. I tried pushing them back in but it is literally trying to push a rubber coated wire through a tight boot made of rubber.
Anyone else have this issue or any ideas how to push the female side of the wire harness forward in the boot? I am considering completely pulling the wire out of the rubber boot then applying grease and trying to re seat the lead. If that doesn't work I am considering cutting an inch off the rubber boot. Final solution would be to replace the spark plug wiring harness. Thanks in advance for any help
