Depth Sounder, 08 210

I have replaced the depth sounder on my 08/210 as it wasn't working when the boat was doing anything more than 1 knot... The replacement unit is intermittent at best and pretty much struggles to gain readings when underway so no real improvement over the prior unit.

When replacing the old unit, I spliced the cable in to the loom on the boat and did not replace the full length so I am guessing I either have cable damage or possibly corrosion on a connector somewhere.

Appreciate any thought or suggestions for those that have battled with similar problems.

This time of year with lots of lake weeds my depth reading is very intermittent.
