SAN 2000 Keyless system

After 2 years something strange happens. Last week the hydrailic engine of the rear (engine) latch failed. It sounds like a fuse blown, because when short cutting the wires to a batery the hatch can open and close. Haven't find the fuse yet (isn't the one on the control panel at the drivers feet).
But from then on something strange happens to the keyless ignition. There are 2 led's on it (always thought they where green) at the number keypad for starting. When pressing the code normally the right led turns green when pressing a key and stays on green when the correct code is pressed and start is pressed.
Now you can press the code and hit start but the right led doesn't do anything. It stays of. You can use all accesoiry (accept the radio and rear electric engine hatch) and the boat starts and runs like normal. Only the left led stays on. And that one is red and stays on always (even when the code is pressed and the system is compleetky off.
Any ideas?

Nobody has any ideas?
The LED on the left is when the RUN mode is entered. But this light never turns out again. Also not when putting the system in Stand-By mode.

Is the check engine light on?I think i would disconnect the battery and reset the black box. You could also do it with an OBDII scanner. It sounds like the brain is scrambled though now badly enough to keep it form running. I don't know where the fuse is. I would check all the breakers on the black box. Good Luck

All the breakers on the black box are good. The check engine light isn't coming on when running. I'll disconnect the battery tonight. This will reset the black box or is there another method to do this?

there are two relays that work the hatch. mine are located between the battery and the ski pole. they are just bosch relays that you can get at any autoparts store. as far as the leds , i would not worry too much about them as long as everything works. mine does just about the same thing , and sometimes they work fine.

The positive treminal wire that attaches to my battery has a fuse in it. That fuse (in my 2000 SAN) is for the piston that raises and lowers the engine cover. Mine used to pop all the time until I went to a stouter fuse. Its very easy to swap out and the fuse can be found at any auto parts store - plus I always keep a spare in the boat.
I doubt that fuse has anything to do with your dash issue but replace and check it out...

Yesterday I noticed that the hatch works sometimes now. Just keep on pressing the up/down arrow of the keypad and after 10tries the hatch goes up or down. Really a bummer because I always found the keypad perfectly in working order. Lets see if it improve itselfs, otherswise I have to digg into the electrics. I already replaced the relays of the hatch and the connections last year. It's really a correct craft type of electronic engineering Yellow_Flash_Colorz: . Worthless!

Unfortunately, there is a very good chance that the keypad is bad. Ugh. Expensive part, unfortunately. One thought, back in 2000 there was a computer
update available via a dealer. CC sent out a special "reprogramming" tool to update the computer. The process took about 20 minutes -- the catch....you need the tool.
You might look into this possibility before dropping the coin on a new keypad.

can you hear the relays clicking when you press the button? i wiggled the wires going in to the lift motor and mine has been working perfectly ever since. also if you have a voltmeter you can have someone hold the button down and see if you are getting voltage from the keypad to the relay. that would rule out the keypad.

I've had the same problem with my 2000 SAN several times. In some cases the fuse at the battery terminal blew and just had to be replaced. In one case the fuse holder at the battery terminal cracked and I had to replace it with one from West Marine (although one from the auto parts store would probably work just as well).
