Has anyone else experienced the rear locker hatch popping open while trailering? I’ve tightened all the screws but it seems to be happening more and more frequent. For now I’m just running an elastic rope over the top but am concerned with it leaving a mark on a long haul. It’s a GS22. Thanks.

I have a new 2019 GS22 and am experiencing the same thing on BOTH hatches. It feels a little weird cruising around looking like the batmobile with wings. Did anyone have a successful resolution to this? I currently put a bunch of electrical tape around the pegs and it is holding. Its not a long term fix, but will do until it is fixed under warranty.

the brackets seem to keep the hatches closed even without “snapping” them into the grommets

is the new bracket kit, a complete change?....or was it because the black rubber grommets were new in the kit. I am having difficulty getting my dealer to move quickly on the warranty change. if i need to, i will swap the grommets for now. its quite frustrating driving around with the hatches popping every 3 secondsand the electrical tape solution is no longer working.
if the kits is new...does anyone have a link to a website that might sell it?

The link above is to a sharepoint site that I can't see. Please repost the site for the bracket retrofit.

With the dealer replacing the hatch brackets under warranty we continued to have issues with the hatches coming open while trailering or on the water. I ordered and installed the upgraded plunger catches from Nautique parts along with 25 lb gas shocks. The plunger catches are tight and the gas shocks have just enough force to open the hatch once you pull up on them. No more issues with the rear hatches coming open.

The gas shocks were ordered from Maxim Hardware.
