Automatic software updates on 2020s?

Hi there, first post. We have a deposit down on a 2020 GS20. I've been reading about concerns the electronics may crap out and create a problem in the long-term lifespan of these boats, which I think is a legitimate concern (not specific to Nautique, rather in general... it's not like most people are still using a 10yr old iPhone). We were told software updates are automatically/wirelessly pushed to the 2020 boats. Anyone had experience with this? How's it working so far? Also, what has your experience been re. reliability of the electronics? Have read some horror stories on the Malibu group.

That is not true. Software updates still must be performed manually with a USB stick.

Hmm... interesting. Does Nautique just mail these to you, or does one have to get them through the dealer? I'm assuming there's no charge associated with updating the software?

Old boat guy here with a question....does Nautique guarantee how long they will provide firmware updates for a model? Also, what features exactly can get updated?

I don't know about guarantees but I know they will provide firmware updates for older boats. I've done plenty of them. The most notable recent one is an update so MY 2016s with Surf Select 3.0 can use the Garmin watch.

Assuming you're talking about your 2004, there's nothing to update on that boat. The firmware updates we're talking about are for the LINC, the PDM's, the newer keypads, etc. None of those go back that far.

ah...no...I meant as I have an old boat (and thus no firmware updates), I don't know much about how Nautique handles this. My exerience with any updateable device is that at some point the manufacturer EOLs the updates and that point you are effectively done. I was asking if Nautique provides any assurances on how long they willl support the firmware in the boat.
