    2017 G23 - Replacing cooler hatch hinges

    Hello all,
We had a little accident last weekend. After pulling out of the water, the wife was pulling the cooler out, handed to me over the side and proceeded to fall into the cooler and against the door hatch. She is fine save a nasty bruise but the boat wasn't so lucky. It appears one of the cooler hinges is bent slightly backwards. This is causing the door to not want to lay flush with the floor when closed. I took a quick look and I can easily access the three nuts holding the hinge to the hatch, but removal of the other side of the hinge appears to require removal of the entire rear floor section.

Before I start popping screws I thought I would ask what kind of a job is it to lift up the rear floor section. I recall hearing people do this to insulate their coolers on earlier year boats but I thought I would ask for general thoughts on this. Easy or a dealer job?

    Appreciate any input...

I don’t have an answer but I could see how that could happen. Easy to get trapped around the door while pulling cooler out.
With that said I no longer use that cooler well or igloo cooler because it is just a huge PITA . I simply use a small rolling cooler and leave it at the base of the pull out center seat . I have easy access to my boat from lift and don’t use a trailer. Realize this won’t work for everyone but that is what I do. I’m done with heavy coolers for life .

I ended up grabbing a piece of wood and a dead-blow hammer and got the issue resolved. A few strategic whacks and she's as good as new.
