Has anyone run into a zero off issue where it won’t hold speed(+\-2-3 MPH). This is an aftermarket install on a new engine and every now and again the system won’t hold anywhere close to speed. It happened yesterday when we had it loaded down, later in the day we ran it again but with lighter weight and it worked fine.
I had to take over manual control and I could hold it at the speed just fine, but when ZO tried it was spastic. When trying to hold at 10.5, ZO would take over at 6 MPH and hover at 8 for a few seconds then gun it go to 13, drop to 9 and hold there then go to 14 and stay there.
I started to think that maybe since I have been running it without that much ballast maybe the program had thought it didn’t need that much throttle, but I don’t think that system is that smart because there’s no input for ballast or what engine, or boat I’m running...all at is it speed and throttle or no.
This is the second time I had the issue before I had the issue with absolutely zero weight in the boat just trying to hold a speed and it was spastic jumping all over the place.
I’ve reached out to zero off before when I had the first issue and they want me to send them the GPS puck. Someone said there may be something wrong with it, but that which means I’m down with out the system until I’m able to get something returned, who knows how long that’ll be.
