    Hard Water spot Removal- vinegar/water

My wife and i went to Lake Powell. I didn’t wipe the boat off after we loaded. The boat was completely covered with hard water stain. I saw a recommendation to use a solution of 50/50 water and vinegar. I did so. It worked amazingly!! Curious what everyone else uses as an after-lake cleaner.

Vinegar works but will also strip off the wax. Check out Boat Bling Hot Sauce or my favorite Boat Juice. They easily remove water spots but leave a nice coat of wax too.

I second the hot sauce. Takes off the water spots and keeps it feeling waxed.

We had ceramic coating done and the first 20 hours the boat was great. After I did a big cleaning with water and vinegar it seems to spot much faster. Is there anyway this will effect the coating or do you think it’s more likely different water causing the issue? We were on a different lake the first 20 hours.

Yes some lake water is more prone to spotting than others. A water spot is a calcium deposit. When the water evaporates, it leaves the calcium behind. This is why vinegar & water is so effective at removing them. It dissolves the calcium.

I assumed that was some of the issue. I just wanted to make sure the vinegar didn’t create anymore

Winner, winner! There is no equal rival. I have my boat marine ceramic coated with Feynlab Marine; regardless, my brother in the pacific northwest is correct, coated or not...

I use hot sauce and it leaves streaks. Am I doing something wrong?

Hot sauce is great. It removed some water spots I couldn't get off with vinegar and water. You have to wipe it off with a dry towel to keep it from streaking
