    Leaking thru-hull fitting

My engine intake thru-hull fitting is leaking. Has anyone had this happen? Just wondering best way to resolve, completely remove and reseal? Tighten the nut on the fitting itself? Have not tried anything yet. Thought it best not to work on that with it sitting in the water!

    RE: Leaking thru-hull fitting

lol, nah u better fix it on land. or atleast on a lift. i would personally remove and reseal. i would hate to damage the gelcoat by overtightening. go to ur local parts house and get PERMATEX RTV sealant (in a gray tube) liberally coat both sides of the hull around the fitting, retighten and wipe away excess sealant. u should not have to worry about it again for a very very long time
