2014 210 transmission slip when hot

Hey dudes, was hoping I could get some suggestions.

my new-to-me 200-hour 210 was slipping badly in idle when hot. It required more throttle to engage the transmission from neutral.

I checked the fluid and it appeared to be too full, so I did a fluid change even though it was just changed from its winterization in late 2019

this seemed to fix the issue initially but it has been creeping back.

do I have any other options? Performance is fine other than idle, reverse is fine, and the linkage seems fine.

im using ACE hardware brand DEXRON-III/MERCON ATF... could that by why?

coming from my 2003 SANTE (which I still have) it’s very puzzling and frustrating

    thanks

Anyone in here know what the operating temps are supposed to be? I want to rule out the cooler by checking the fluid temp

Depending on the trans, they have different methods for checking the fluid level (some are checked cold and some checked hot... I think most PCM you check cold and you don't screw in when you dip it) Which trans do you have? It can slip if too much fluid cause it will form air bubbles. If water ever previously got into the trans it could have caused an issue that you are now feeling.
Sounds like the right fluid but also depends on the model transmission, most have a 2 quart capacity.
Have you checked the vdrive fluid levels as well? If its the power plus, it takes a special synthetic lubricant that they say is "maintainance free" however in the fine print it says to replace every 5yrs. Worth checking to rule that out

I believe that’s the vdrive you’re talking about

Maintenance manual says to check cold OR a few minutes after shutting down. Also found a tag saying the same thing

I DID find the water hose going into the cooler was a little wonky from possibly a rushed winterization.

Removed the hose and reinstalled and the issue improved!

wondering if another change is in order... wish I could tell if I no longer have any leaks or if I ever did... I have an idea for a product now
