I can't seem to locate the primary fuel filter on my 2007 236 with the ZR6. I can trace the fuel lines from the tank to the FCC and the fuel pump and no primary fuel filter. The fuel pump (2nd picture) isn't right on the FCC but further to the stern.

Looking at the manual for the 2006 ZR6, the diagram looks like what I have. I guess I could have a 2006 engine in my 2007.

I’ve located the pre filter. Any suggestions on removing the end nut?Once I do, can I pull the filter element out, put the nut back on and just splice an in-line filter where it’s easier to get access to? I would use filter R080024A. Would I have issues with keeping the current low pressure fuel pump? It’s suggested to replace annually but it’s location makes it tough.

Removing the factory pre-filter and replacing it with the 24A works great! Do it. Remove the entire pre-filter assembly and use a brass fuel filter fitting to replace it. Then find a convenient spot to splice in the 24A.Comment

Thanks. I just barely finished replacing the factory pre-filter. Took me way too long and too many swears. Swapping it out will save my sanity.
