New owner of a 98 SNOB boat. Like to mount a Battery Disconnect switch in it instead of having to take the wing nut off the battery after each use. Is there an ideal or factory mount location for this switch? May be room for a small one within the battery box as it doesn't close up all the way with the lid on it anyway. Searched all of the forums and posts but could not find anything or photos. Thanks from LA - Lower Alabama

Those boats didn't have a battery switch from the factory. The power is terminated at the switch panel on the dash with the ignition breaker. As long as that is off (and nobody has run anything directly to the battery), you should be all set.
If the battery doesn't fit, you really should put the right size battery in place. Otherwise you risk breaking the terminals or shorting them out. There are multiple places where you can install these switches – the most common areas being the battery posts or under the instrument panel. Some also install them in the engine case.Comment

I've considered mounting a battery "isolator" or on / off switch on the kick panel at the driver's feet -- up at the top. That would mean new cables or extensions. I've also thought about mounting one on the battery cover panel. Just the witless ramblings of a frenzied mind...
