Engine running rough/popping at high rpm

I have a 2006 super air antique 22’ with zr 6 engine
starting this season when I would be going full throttle I would hear a popping from the engine. Sounded like it is coming from the exhaust.
I changed the fuel filter and put in some sea foam.
that apparently is not the cause
the boat will run ok under 3000 rpm with intermittent hesitation
if I load the ballast tanks and try to surf or wake board it consistently stalls out like it is missing or has bad fuel
the popping from the engine/ exhaust continues as well
any help with a diagnosis would be greatly appreciated

Check the air filter, clean/exchange sparkles, check system diagnostics (if its already available 2006 boats)

When was the last time a tune up was done? If it’s been awhile I’d start with plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap.
