Holly Carb Accelerator Pump Diaphragm Maint.

I assume I have a very popular Holly Carb on my 1988 SN 2001 based on the availability of parts.

For those of you who donÂ’t know Holly Carbs have been produced since 1903 and there are many cross over parts for them that are also easy to get locally. I was able to source this for $8.00 at the local NAPA auto parts store. I made sure to look up my list number which is on the choke tower so the guy behind the counter got me the right accelerator pump diaphragm
This project was critical path to me
Enjoy the 4th of July on my boat since I had a fuel leak every time I gave my boat throttle. A bit of fuel would pour out if the bottom of my carb right where the a accelerator pump diaphragm is located. The installation of the diaphragm was very straightforward. I thought IÂ’d share it with you all. First take the carb off. 4 bolts and the fuel line

Flip it over and remove the cover

The diaphragm goes in the same way the old one comes out and the cover goes back on. And then the 4 screws of course

For less than $5 how could I pass up a new base gasket?

Done deal!! Works great. Happy 4th everyone. Enjoy your boat.

Nice work. That is a popular Holley. It’s a 4160 for anyone curious. Good job on double checking the replacement against the original part. There are a LOT of variations on how to set up a 4160.
