    Oil Change without changing filter.

My 2019 Nautique 210 just hit 100 hours so i guess its time for an oil change? I was thinking of just changing the oil and keeping the same filter. Can I do this? anyone do a lazy change like this

100 hours is a lot should have been done at 50. Changing the oil and not changing the filter is like washing your hands and then drying them with a dirty towel. The cheapest thing you can do on your boat is an oil change . The cheapest part of an oil change is the filter . Why would you choose that to save on???

Unless those are Canadian metric hours you basically, in automotive terms, drove your car 20,000 miles (32000 KM) without changing the oil. Worse yet you did it on a brand new boat where the first oil change is probably the most important oil change in the life of the engine.

As far as "can you do an oil change like this?" Sure you can do anything you want with your boat but this is a very foolish thing to do. Also you've pretty much voided your 5 year warranty by not following the maintenance schedule. So for the price of an oil change you've eliminated the protection of the engine which could have the potential of costing you thousands.

As to the question "has anyone done a lazy oil change like this?", I don't really think you going to find many like minded thinkers on this site for that.

Hopefully he changed oil and filter at 50, but just didn't mention it. Anyways, don't be "lazy" as you say and change the filter.
        Ski on dude!

Depends on engine. 6.0 now requires dexos oil. A lot of people use rotella t4 (and I did as well until the requirement was changed.)

Yes. Lots of us have been using Rotella T5 for years.

Actually, we hope he changed it at 25 hrs for the first change, pursuant to PCM guidlines...
