    Bolts on titan tower loosening...

I have a 2008 210 with the titan tower. I replaced the plastic spacers that were cracked but I still have a problem with the rear post bolts coming loose. I keep tightening them and have used loctite and/or vibratite. Any one else have this problem or found a solution? Thanks.

Which Loctite are you using. I've used red on flywheel bolts and they never come off or get loose (which BTW is the problem in many applications). Have no clue what the bolt surface looks like but they do make mechanical locking fasteners that could be an option as well.

I keep the allen wrench in the glove box and check them every time we go out.

I encountered the same issue, and I tightened the bejesus out of mine until (gasp) I finally broke one. Had to get a replacement through Star One Wake, of which I'm suspect is now Titan Wake. Long story short, Star One 's primary tech Scott Sax informed me "torque should be 40-45 ft/lbs. Be sure to use ANTI-SEIZE on the threads to keep the screw from galling to the nut."

So, I now do as NautiqueHunter mentioned and just have the allen wrench handy to periodically check mine.

I had that tower on my 2008 210. Only had to tighten the bolts once. If i remember right i could only get to 2 or 3 of the legs bolts.

We used to love that tower. I let the kids climb up to the top and jump off the sides of it into the water.

Thanks for the info. I love the boat, but hate this tower! They did tell me to use anti-seize when I bought some replacement plastic discs. Bolts never seem to stay tight so I tried vibratite and then red locktite. Seems like both get stripped off the threads while screwing into the mount. I took a look at the mount, bolt doesnt go through the gunnal. The bolt is screwed into a part that rotates inside the base mount. I'll post a picture tommorow if anyone is interested. Stage 8 wouldn't work in this case. Looks like I will be keeping an Allen wrench in the glovebox like everyone else...

I may try applying vibratite to the base mount instead of bolt. The hole appeared to have some water in it, might be preventing adhesion?
