ID:	616801Hey gang,

I’m new to Nautique but not new to ski boats. I’ve owned three different MasterCraft ski boats for the last 24 years and also a Barefoot Sanger outboard, and last weekend while filling the Sanger a very pretty Nautique passed by the dock slowly with a for sale sign and 3 hours later it was mine.

Overall the boat is in very, very good condition but it does need a few items:

    1) The right speedometer is missing the speed setting dial. The needle is still in the Airguide casing itself, but the knob that holds it is missing. See attached photos. Classic Boat Works seems to have gone out of business and other than finding someone with a mid 1990’s gauge that removed it for PP, any idea where I might find such a knob?
    2) rub rail end cap is missing on the driver side rear.
    3) Bimini recommendation. I see Nautique Parts has them. Are folks happy with bimini tops from there?
    4) waterline cover. The boat is stored on a covered lift, but I like full covers with side curtains on my boats.
    5) prop preferences? We are mostly slalom skiers. It currently has a 3-blade legend by OJ

Thanks for any input you may have.

We have the exact same boat.

Speedo: this will be hard to source. I got lucky and bought a used one in excellent condition. They're easy to replace/rebuild. Jeff has some info on rebuilding them on his 98 restoration and probably another one.

Rubrail cap: let me know when you find one! Ours is missing too.

Cover: We have a Tumacs cover, it is excellent. We got it from Skip Dunlap. I'll send you his contact info.

Prop: we have an OJ CNC 4 blade. I forget which one, will look that up. There is high praise for the Acme 422.

Thanks for the note. Any pictures of the cover?

Same boat here -- mine was new-to-me a couple years ago.

Acme 422 is the way to go on the prop -- not a big performance difference but in my case, I saw a dramatic reduction in vibration.

I ordered this bimini from overtons and it works great: https://www.overtons.com/shademate-s...de-309862.html. I had a zipper installed to accommodate an extended pylon. The side mounts mount behind the windshield where the windshield meets the gunwale. Perfect position IMHO.

I also ordered a sunbrella cover from overtons. Not the cheapest option by far, but I'm a sunbrella fanboy -- that fabric lasts forever.

Keep an eye on deals at overtons -- they're always discounting.

One more thing -- if you're up for replacing that speedo (which I did) with a speed control system, check out hydrophase (https://www.hydrophase.com/ridesteady). Absolutely LOVE mine. Far more adjustable and easier to use than similar "tournament" speed controls. Great for skiing, boarding, and even tubing!

Here it is in my dash:

Any interest in selling the speedometer you removed? I'm not certain I will add PP to this boat since I have ZO on my other boat.

+1 on Acme 422. If you want extra hole-shot look at Acme 654. For bimini tops I really like the ones with stainless steel tubing and hardware. A bit higher $$ but great tops. I had a Northstar Products Bimini on my 1994. I have a 1994 AirGuide speedo I can sell you. Send me a PM.

Looks nice. Two support poles? How does it do keeping the water
                  out? No vents?

It has two poles and the pole supports have vents. As long as you get it tight with the poles at the right height, water runs right off. I will never buy another cover besides a Tumac. Material is called Aqualon and is waterproof. We do run a small dryer and fan to be double sure of moisture. We have never has any mold. I hate not having a shelter above our boat, but we have no other option.

Here are a couple more pictures. The cover does need to be cleaned! Probably do that this coming up weekend.
