Ok, another cooling system issue here. Quick background on the scenario. My brother used our boat this weekend so I wasn't on it. It's a 2004 SV211, PCM Excalibur 5.7.
He was cruising back to the dock and started smelling burnt rubber smell. Stopped, shut her down, looked in engine compartment. Small amount of smoke or steam came out but really little. Ran the blower, restarted and nursed back to the dock. Never got any dash warnings that I know of.
Ok, further inspection today is belt with worn and thrown off laying in the bilge. Some other shredded rubber bits that might be belt but other pieces that look like something else, not sure.
I'm headed to look at tomorrow, I plan to bring some exhaust hose, new belt, have spare impeller in the boat, maybe grab a thermostat and housing gasket to be sure. Anything else I should bring?
Also, if the belt was off and ran with no cooling for a bit back to dock, what other concerns do I need to look for? My biggest concerns are block components and internals damage from over heating. Thanks
