I have a PCM Excalibur 5.7 and had the port riser and manifold get so hot it was smoking. The boat had previously been used in salt water so I thought now was the time to replace them. Figuring it was time to do through it I changed both manifolds, risers, replaced the impeller and clean the heat exchanger. I ran the boat and above 30mph I can start to smell burning and the port manifold is much hotter than the port still. It’s hot to the touch where you can put your hand on it but can’t hold it there but the starboard side you can leave your hand on. Is this typical of the Excalibur and I just need the paint burning smell to “burn off”. Anyone know if this is normal or any suggestions of what it might be. I also cleaned the intake filter. Any ideas ????
