Hey All, I've done searching and I've seem to come up with this consensus. tranny fluid type is Dexron III, V-drive is sae 30 oil. sound right to you? I've done this change once 2-3 seasons ago and just want to confirm. I am almost sure that's it as i have a jug of dexron III and a quart of sae 30 oil that I keep in boat at all times.

Just changed tranny fluid (easier to do than an oil change). Also, V-drive fluid was crystal clear so I'm just going to top it off...question, would it be an issue if I use 10w-30 as opposed to straight 30 weight... -
since its only a few ounces anyways i dont think the 10w30 will be a problem..Comment

I wouldn't. Is it worth damaging something over 5 dollar quart of oil? Shipping alone from California to New Jersey to rebuild alone will cost you big time. Walter at one time recommended 30w non detergent oil,thats what I have been usingComment

it wasn't even a quart...literally it was just a swish to top off...i've rebuilt motors and a smidge of oil that wasn't the exact viscosity but ultimately the same oil at operating temp isn't going to hurt...if I was gonna do a whole change out I would just use straight 30...Comment
