Just got a new to me 1995 Ski Nautique 196. Had it in the river last night and noticed a couple of the gauges don’t light up with Nav lights on. Can this be fixed or do I need a new gauge? Also my depth finder won’t turn on should I try to replace or just replace with a gps fishfinder combo? Would come in handy on the river and some of the bigger lakes. Just ordered all new gas shocks for engine, cooler lid and front seat. Lots of little things to fix. Many thanks for your advice and assistance.
    Regards,
    Al

Had the same issue with my 95 196. I removed the dash checked the connection at the top of the gauge. On mine, it was a combination of loose connection, burnt out bulb, or corrosion at the bulb housing.

I cleaned it up, checked my connections, and replaced the bulbs. No issues after that.

As for the bulbs, I went to local auto parts store and just replaced the bulb. Think a pack of six was under $10. No need to buy marine bulbs which were much more expensive.

Awesome thanks I fixed the depth finder today when I was installing the new radio. Looks like I need to remove the dash and get soldering all of those butt connections. How difficult is removing the dash?
      Thanks again,
      Al

Easy. Four screws. Two near the bottom of the steering wheel and two towards the windshield. Just pull it out slowly and rotate the steering wheel to the down position.
