    2010 210 linc 1.0 fuel gauge issue

Replaced my sending unit because it always read half full of fuel. Gauge worked at first after replacement but now reads half again. Any ideas on what to check next?

    Bad connection/ground or perhaps corrosion?
FYI... some boats wont read correctly unless the engine is started, is it staying at half with engine going or are you checking it by keying ignition to ACC?
Mine is not consistent unless its running. For the most part, sending units are notoriously inaccurate in boats but if boat is running and is "at rest", it should at least consistently give you similar readings depending on the actual level of the fuel

Fuel level doesn’t change weather the boat is running or acc is on. Every once in awhile I’ll get what I think is a correct reading on the fuel gauge. I checked the plug when I replaced the fuel sender and it looked clear of any corrosion.

LINC 1.0’s sender-based gauges are all the same as their traditional gauge counterparts. I can’t remember how the sender is positioned in relation to the fuel tank but if you can get to it and get an ohm meter on it, the sender should read somewhere near 100 with the tank half full (240ish at empty and 30ish full). Make sure everything is off before measuring. Voltage will throw off the numbers. If the sender checks out and it’s still showing wrong on the gauge, it’s time to start chasing grounds. Start with the one on the tank and work your way back to the dash.
