    Changed ignition switch

I started by tightening the ignition switch and had no problems on at least 5 trips out. Then the key just turned past ignition and started. So I left it on the rest of the day. The next day out my gauges turned on but got no fire. I switched the ignition switch to make sure that wasn't the problem. Still, all I got was gauges to turn on. Any advice on next thing to look at or try. 1998 Sport Air Natique 21'.

So your ignition key does at least two things (probably 3, but we’ll keep it simple): it turns on IGN so your engine has electricity to run and power the gauges and it has a start wire that momentarily contacts to run the starter. That first turn is IGN and that second but that is only on while you’re holding it is start. They have different posts they’re wired to. Likely what happened is that start was pulled off the post when you turned it and just needs to be reattached. My old 2001 was bad about doing that no matter how hard I tightened everything up.
