Hi, I have an offer for a almost free SAN 210 from 2005 with a broken engine. Is it worth buying a new engine an rebuild or is it to much hassle / cost?

these engines are readily available. if its powered by the pcm ford gt40 motor its basically a ford 351 Windsor commonly in 90's v8 ford vehicles. if the boat comes with the engine its just a matter of swapping the fuel, ignition and cooling system over to the new engine and youre good to go, ive seen these engines at junkyards for about 300 bucks. You can probably get the junkyard engine rebuild for under $1000 and youll have yourself 0 hour engine for the low!! good luck -
Going to be a challenge to find an American V8 in a Swiss junkyard I’ll bet. Most likely Chevy powered in 05 you might be best to actually find out what is in it first. Then see where you can get parts and possible machine work done not to mention costs involved. What is easily done here has its own unique challenges when your out of countryComment

Just playing detective here for a minute, but why is the engine dead? If it’s from lack of winterization you could also be looking at a dead v-drive and maybe even transmission. Even assuming you get all of that in order what else is wrong? There will be other things. Can you fix those? This has potential to flip assuming you can get the parts but it will be time-consuming. I wouldn’t do it as my primary boat, especially overseas.Comment

The last year for the GT-40 in Nautiques was 2002. This boat likely had the GM 350 Excalibur 330 HP.
