2019 230 Oil Pressure - Drop to ZERO

Hoping for feedback on my 2019 SAN 230

Out yesterday surfing and doing the general family float. After our normal slow run out we ramped up to 25mph and ran out to our favorite spot for surfing. After surf session we dumped ballast and started heading for a beach.

as soon as we started the warning light of “low oil pressure” came on and the panoray gauge showed 0.

turned boat all the way off and tried again. Looked good for 20 mins and then did the same thing.

at that point we got towed in. Any experience with this? Anything I could check before I drag it to the dealer.

i am guessing either oil pump or sensor?

    oil level good
    no oil leaking
    fresh water strainer fine

    thanks in advance!

Your guesses are the obvious ones: sensor or pump. You can hook a gauge up and verify the oil pressure. If the gauge looks good, it’s your sensor. If it’s showing low at the gauge, I’d take it to the dealer. I’m not doing an oil pump on a boat. Even if it’s not the sensor or the pump at that point it’s likely something like the pickup tube which would still require dropping the oil pan.

I think oil pumps are mechanical and would not go out all at once, so very likely the sensor, and therefore an easy fix.
