    Damage to Platform 2014 G25

Question for you guys... I bumped the swim deck when I was backing the boat into storage today, and did some minor damage to the swim platform. In frustration, I didn't spend much time looking at it, but I think there is about 6 inches of fiberglass splintered where the platform side swiped the entry to the storage.

So, I think the obvious thing is to just have the fiberglass fixed, and gel coated, however we are taking the boat to Lake Powell for a week long vacation in less than 2 weeks, and and I don't think we have time to find someone to fix it before. Any suggestions?

I was thinking I would just sand down the fiberglass splinters and then put a heavy duty packing tape over it which might suffice for the trip, then I can take more time to get it fixed properly. I think this is reasonable as I don't think the damage is significant enough to be structural or limit the platforms ability to hold weight.

I will go get pictures (the boat is in storage and it is a 30 minute drive), if that would help someone make a good recommendation.

My first thought was duct tape. The step can be removed from the boat so I would have unbolted it and brought it home. Call around Monday and see if anyone can meet your deadline. If not how about doing a crude fiberglass patch yourself that can be removed by the professional later after the trip. That’s what I would consider in that order.

Yeah, everyone is so busy, but the most common answer is to just put duct tape over it... Sounds like the plan. Thanks!

Yeah, horrible experience. I will probably create a post.
