What does anyone suggest to do when you get a tear in the vinyl and also what do you suggest when the seam starts separating?

I had an upholstery shop resew the seam on one of the seats in my '94. You could always order new skins though. Any dealer should be able to get them, depending on the year of your boat.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. i've ordered skins for my '94 last year. I would imagine you would be in luck isbtown.

I had a 96' I ordered new skins for my rear seat bottom and observers seat bottom in 2003. They had the pattern,the problem is that they used the new vinyl which wasn't the same white or quality as the older model such that it looked off from the seat backs. Granted new skins do look nice you're almost better off doing both top and bottom of each seat that you need redo.

Nail polish will stop the tear from going further. There are companies out there that do "in home furniture repair" on leather, for example, that can do the same with the vinyl in your boat. They heat up the section being repaired, blow some new vinyl stuff on there in the same color, and let her dry. Pretty cool actually. Otherwise, re-covering the entire seat will accomplish the goal. The vinyl is easy to get........bring it to your local seamstress and you should be set.Comment
