    2014 G23 LINC 2.0 screen problems

Started up my boat a few days ago to this fun on the screen:

I appears either the connection or the screen may be bad. Have restarted a few times and the same issues exist and aren't moving around on the screen. No functionality is affected, just the display. Anyone had this or any suggestions? A new screen ain't cheap to trying to see if there is a fix for it.

    The point out specifics:
    1. Some weird dot.
    2. a line in the screen, now there is a second one below that
    3. more lines that obscure the bottom of the screen

Let's hope for a bad or dirty connection or possibly low voltage?

In TVs lines like these are typically caused by bad row driver or row electrode but can also be the result of software issues or loose, broken or dirty cables/connectors. The first step I would take would be kill the power completely by removing the connections to the battery to see if that will completely reset the system. Next would be to inspect and clean everything going to/from the screen to see if you can fix it with the cheap stupid stuff.

With all the other weird stuff going on I'd be leaning more towards software or a bad connection somewhere.

OK is turning off the perko switch enough or you think full battery disconnect is needed? Thanks in advance.

You know turning off at the Perko should be fine but when I get into stuff like this I take the movie Aliens, "nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure" approach and disconnect the batteries. That way you know there's no power and if a reset is going to occur this would be the best way to ensure that. Then prepare yourself to lay on your back under the dash for a couple hours for phase 2.

hey I feel the pain my screen started doing that about a year before it went completely blank .I tried reaching out to see if there was any fix... there is on a non screen issue, but a screen issue there is not .. try white lake some times the factory has rebuilt ones that didn't have a screen issue that are a little cheaper.. then new ones...I was not lucky they had none all winter so I was about to bite the bullet when jeff came to the rescue he had a used demo that he had in his garage which we agree on price ..end of story...someone posted years ago when CC stared using screens this would happen and now it is,, closed to 5'000 for anew one ouch....

Its hard to see in this picture but when I powered the boat down and removed the screen, the circle and the lines are still present, which tells me something is wrong with the hardware and it will need to be replaced. (I wiped it off but in the picture it showed as with some smudges.)

If anyone knows of a screen available let me know. I cleaned and checked all the connections just in case as well but that did not solve it.

All I can suggest is buying from NautiqueParts and using our discount code (PND) to save almost $400. That screen is still crazy expensive though.

I have a line on a working used one if you are interested. should be at least 1/2 the cost of new. If you are interested let me know.

This was one of my concerns when I was looking for a new boat and I have commented on this topic several times here and on the MC site as well. $5K is absolutely ridiculous and highway robbery. You can buy a complete top of the line laptop from the most expensive manufacture for half that. And BTW this isn't just a Nautique thing either, you can find the same type posts on any of the top manufactures sites. I mean when you look at this you're talking new engine territory in cost for the replacement.

It would be interesting to see who made the original and see if they have a suitable replacement that could be retro fitted. Believe me Medallion or Teleflex didn't design these themselves so those parts had to come from somewhere. When you pull it apart see if you can find any manufacture's part numbers or names on the old display. There's some really talented shops out there that may be interested in the repair business once they see the gold in them there hills.

Many thanks to Stevemo14 for a screen. Exact same model number but when I swap them out the boat does not turn on. I swapped the media card too (but I think that shouldnt matter as it should just be the map function) but still nothing. The key pad works but nothing seems to "boot up" - the ballast pumps dont prime and nothing seems to happen. Anyone aware of something special that needs to happen to swap screens besides just plug the new one in?

Maybe the second screen is dead (its a used screen) but seems like the boat would at least go through the startup sequence, so makes me think I am missing a step.
