    Audible Buzzer/Alarm on 08 SV211

Just curious if anyone can clarify if a SV211 has an audible alarm for some critial codes? I run the wake program for a summer camp and we have an 08 SV211. Over the years, we have had various issues that have been indicated by the Check Engine light coming on. However, no alarm has ever sounded.

    1) Do any codes have an alarm?
    2) Is there an aftermarket kit to add an audible alarm if the CEL light comes on? A few times it has come on, its taken a few minutes to notice it, esp with a full boat and bright sunlight. I would love to install a buzzer alarm for any time the light comes on.

    Thanks!

Yes, there should be an audible alarm. So far this summer I've done repairs on:

    - An 06 SV-211 with a failed knock sensor. It created both an audible and visible alarm on the display.

    - An 08 SV-211 which had about 2 quarts too much oil in it. No code, but an audible alarm.

In other words, it'll beep to the point it drives you crazy.

So the alarm goes on every CEL illumination? If I'm not getting that, where would I start troubleshooting? Recently we've had the light come on and the Oil Pressure gauge hard over to 80+ PSI. After about 10 mins and a restart, the light goes off and the oil pressure gauge starts working again. No alarm. We don't know the code, every time we scan afterwards its already cleared with no perm codes shown. I have ordered a pressure sensor/sender as we suspect its just a bad pressure sensor. But I would love it if there was an alarm...

Every CEL I've seen on the SV-211s I work on have had an audible alarm. It's really annoying, too.

Any idea where I would start to troubleshoot to try to get it working again?
