Windshield screw cover gasket for 90's Nautiques

I have a 96 Sport Nautique. The windshield is coming back from the powder coater this week. Couple of questions on the gaskets:

1) Is this the correct screw/top cover. It says "late 90's" in the description. If not, any suggestion. The old one was pretty beat up. https://www.nautiqueparts.com/produc...-8-foot-piece/

2) Does anyone know if its possible to replace the gaskets between the glass and frame? I can reuse the old ones but would prefer to replace with new. I emailed Taylor-Made and they said they no longer sell them. But they look fairly generic glass U seals to me. Anybody done this during a restoration?

You've got the right screw cover. I used that on my 1999 SNOB, and it turned out great. Be prepared to cut it to size, and you'll have to cut it at an angle at the end to make it fit properly.

On the rubber between the glass and the frame, I have taken apart many windshields, and I have never had one where that rubber couldn't be reused. I haven't found replacements anywhere either, but I have also never had an occasion where replacement was necessary. Just clean the original up and put it back in.

I might suggest ordering the rubber/foam strip for between the windshield frame and the deck of the boat though, if you haven't already. That piece is peel-and-stick, and goes on easily. The old ones are usually crushed beyond reuse.

Also, the original windshield had been rivetted and screwed to death over the years and was full of non-original holes. I took it to a welding shop and they spend about 6 hours welding all of the holes (except for the base holes that attach to cap of boat). They did an amazing job and looks flawless.

Now I will need to figure out how to CORRECTLY screw it back together. Should I screw or rivet, and does anyone have a 94-2002 Sport/Ski/SNOB in good original condition that could take some close up pictures of proper screw/rivet placement?

Another related question...the walk-thru windshield hinge is pretty bent. Should I try to straighten? My buddy who owns the local marina said most can just be replaced with machine wire of the correct gauge. I'm not even sure what machine wire is or where to get it. I'll ask him again when he is over this week, but thought I'd post here as well.

I am replacing a 1990 ski nautique windshield that was shattered. the gasket between the glass and windshield is gone but I think the local glass shop can put in a good gasket
what i am not following in this post is what are you referring to as the windshield screw cover gasket and the foam strip between the windshield frame and deck of the boat?

NautiqueJeff I am putting the windshield together today. The top screw cover is completely different than the original. See pic. How did you cut this to fit, I'm not seeing it.

By screw cover, I am assuming you mean the piece that covers the screws that attach the windshield to the deck of the boat (see my picture below). The part you purchased goes there.

I can't tell if that's what your pictures above show, but it doesn't look like it. Where is the piece you're showing on your windshield?

Shoot. The part I’m showing is the the piece on the very top of the frame. Original is in very rough condition, very scuffed up and oxidized.
