1986 2001 Natique in salt water

I'm considering putting my 2001 Natique in salt water and it has always been in fresh water. I'm concerned about salt water in the intake and how to make sure it is completely rinsed after use in salt water. Any experience in this area?

ps, it is nautique= this boat wont hold up in salt. not to mention any type of ruff water will beat you to death.

I have used my 90 Sport in the salt for the last year or so. I coat everything with Corrosion Block (engine, trans, rear of instruments). If you have a painted trailer you will see the effects of salt right away. As for the boat, I have not seen any real change. True, you can’t see the risers rusting. But if it means I can be in the water foiling in 30 minutes rather then two hours, it a no brainer.

echo you better keep a close eye on those riser gaskets when they get stains running down the sides they are going to start leaking internally as well and it will cause you problems. if you run in salt you better get good at changing them. DO NOT CONTINUE TO RUN IF THEY ARE LEAKING. gaskets are cheap and easy. the results of running with leaky risers are NOT.
