Water in Gastank SN 1999

I have 1999 Ski Nautique stopped running after 2 min found water on the spark plugs, I drained the high pressure fuel pump almost clear water came out.
My tank was quite empty so I drained it completely with the low pressure fuel pump about 4 G of fuel water mix.
Is there a way to completely drain the tank without taking it out?
I'm pretty sure there is some bad fuel left in the tank.

Add a bottle of marine water treatment like Heet and fill it up with new fuel it will correct its self in a couple fill ups.

Thanks, I decided to remove the tank my rudder blade needed a new packing as well. I was surprised how easy it is to remove the tank took me about 45 minutes the hardest part was to get the hoses of.
Also was a real mess back there so pressure washed it.
I have done the rudder blade packing without tank removal I never do that again.

How do you think you got so much water in the tank? Wondering as I have not filled mine above 1/4 tank all season and might be getting some condensation? Makes me think about draining the FCC and see if I get any water!

I'm going to check this on a regular base now. I assume it's from condensation and winter storage might even bad gas from the station. We spend a week at smith mountain lake run perfect. Then it was parked for a week and this all happen.
My tank was a 1/4 full during the winter.
It's actually a good question what is the recommendation for storage full empty ...?
I'm going to add a stabilizer this winter as well.
I moved from Florida to VA and haven't used the boat as much. In FL we skied twice a week and I never had a problem.
Today I hooked it up to a temporary gastank and flushed the lines and pump.
Also got the engine started. First start took a long time of cranking and still died 2 times. But now it's running normal again.

I've always heard store full so no condensation, but I hate starting the season in Minnesota with 25 gallons of 8 month old gas. I usually store at about a 1/4 tank and treat it, then fill with fresh NonOx in the spring. Where I store in the winter is indoors and with our sub zero temps and low humidity I dont worry about it that much. More concerned with Summer heat/cool cycles of the boat and gas while sitting on the lift over the water. think I will start paying more attention to the FCC drain plug

Yes... Very hard to take a picture inside the canister but what happens is the water corrodes the canister and when left actually deeply pitts the aluminum,you can see it here on the sides. There is alot on the bottom that's hard to see.





Here is one I bead blasted,again hard to see- need to find a coating like Kreem to seal it back up

Pulled the plug on the FCC this weekend and drained about a cup of fuel with no sign of water at all. That's 20 hours since the FCC filter change and running the entire time with less than 1/2 tank of fuel.
