    Steering wheel seized up

    Hello,

I recently bought a 2008 SV211 and they steering has been terrible. It’s has gotten so bad that I can’t make a turn unless I use two hands. Has anyone ran into this problem? I was reading about having to replace a steering cable.

Order a steering cable, and you should be good to go. They are not too hard to install. there are a few threads about it on here.

    Quick Instructions.

    1. Undo cotter pin and connecting rod from rudder.
    2. Undo Retaining nut from back of Cable by the rudder
    3. Use a cutoff wheel to cut the current cable by the steering wheel ( sawzall will not do it, i tried for like 20 min )
    4. Tape the back end of the new cable to the old cable
    5. Pull the back of the old cable to pull the new cable through
    - I used 2 people here, one guiding the cable by the steering wheel and pushing, and one back by the motor pulling
    - I also had to raise the rear of the fuel take up about 4-6 inches to let the retaining nut pass through that area. i just lifted the rear of the tank up and my buddy put some 2x4's under the bottom in the middle
    6. Hook everything back up.

I think https://www.nautiqueparts.com/produc...n-210-230-236/ should be the cable you need, and don't forget to use the promo code PND for 10% off.
