Another question, my new to me G23 has what looked like an old ski rope wrapped around the prop shaft between the strut and the prop. I cut the rope section off but it also seemed to have a hard plastic portion to it. I'm not sure if there is a bearing or something in the strut or if the prop shaft goes straight through the strut. If someone knows if there should be something in the strut please let me know. Attached is a picture of what I removed.
Also in the past I've had supra's and centurions that I have been able to hand spin the prop when in neutral. I tried to hand spin my prop today. I could but it took quite an effort. Is this normal of should I check the prop shaft alignment etc? Thanks so much!
