Hey all - the port side of my manual tower is loose at the rear of the tower base. I can push it forward (from the top of the tower) when it’s locked, and it has a rattle. The locking handle spins too easily, it feels like there’s play in the mechanism where it is supposed to go into the lock position. I’ve pulled the handle and semi-circular plate behind it, but don’t see how to access or adjust the actual locking mechanism. Any ideas, or tips on how to access to adjust? Thanks.

Sounds like something is broken or bent in the latch system. I'd let the dealer deal with that under warranty.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.

Jeff - thanks, I have a feeling that you’re right. But the dealer is located 4 hours (each way) away, as Nautique just informed me they cut our ‘local’ dealer (2 hours away) out of their dealer network. So I was hoping to at least take a look to see if it was something simple, as I don’t want to damage the boat. I don’t see a way of accessing the tower base internals, but I feel like I must be missing something. I’ll keep poking around... I can confirm that the pin is fully rotating with the handle, nothing externally-accessible is stripped.

I’m such a dummy - you access the internal tower base mechanism by lowering the tower! The set screw on the latch was loose, i tightened it and that solved the problem. Solid as a rock now. Will still have the dealer take a look at the next service.
