Recover sundeck or use SeaDek? 2001 SAN

Am trying to decide between recovering the middle sundeck or strip it off and go back with SeaDek for a walk through feel and look since the pads get so slippery. We don’t lay on it much. Thoughts?

    Sea Deck...

I recovered mine and regret it... a walk through is so nice... and let’s be honest how often do you lay out??

I’m planning to go the sea desk route there as well. Just seems to make more sense for walking across. What I wonder is if it would be a good idea to reinforce it a little bit?

I could be wrong but I wouldn’t think so. As long as your frame rails are still intact above the engine. I’m thinking of buying the roll and doing it myself. My only question is should I leave the other two sundecks in the side vinyl as they need repaired too or just do seadek everywhere on the back sundeck.

It seems to be pretty solid, my father in law comes out with us a lot and he’s 300+ so I worry about it holding up. So far so good though. I hadn’t thought about doing the engine cover and lockers in sea deck. That would be interesting. I’m thinking about doing most of the engine cover, leaving a strip of vinyl on either side of a few inches and then doing the sea deck walkway down the center. I’d basically make the walkway the same width as the step under the removable center rear seat cushion. If that makes sense. I saw someone who turned their locker covers into lounge chairs kinda like the new paragon but no where near as fancy. I’ve been contemplating doing something like that with them but not sure how crazy I want to get
