New engine for 2001 super air nautique.

Hi a couple months ago I bought a 2001 super air nautique. The boat never ran right and I’m getting water in the oil. Milky dipstick. Pretty sure I was ripped off. What are my options for new engines? Does anyone have recommendations on a new engine? I was looking on eBay and seeing some in the 2 grand range but wasn’t sure exactly what I needed. Do you guys know the part number or which engine to look for? Thanks, appreciate the help.

OK, before you start going out and buying a new engine, figure out exactly what's wrong with the one you have. It might just be a cracked head which is perfectly repairable. You need to get a good mechanic to go through and figure out how you're getting water in the oil. There are many possibilities that don't require replacing the entire engine.

Charles is taking the correct and sane approach.

If that doesn't work out and you need another motor most people look at Jasper and Michigan Motorz for a replacement. The next question ends up being about new versus re manufactured. Jasper is considered by most to be the king for re-manufactured engines. They come with an industry leading warranty and most times can recommend a shop to do the swap for you. Around where I live (MI) Michigan Motorz is king and while they do sell some re-conditioned engines they're mostly known for their new engines. They're known for their quality and service but won't do a swap for you even if you're local. They do have several shops they can recommend though.
