'07 PCM Excalibur Thermostat

All,
I believe the thermostat in my '07 Excalibur 330 is stuck open (it won't get above 125-130). So, forgive me, but where the heck is the thermostat housing on this thing?

You can find a parts diagram in the "Owners Manuals and Brochures" section of this web site. Great resource. Depends on your cooling system, fresh water or raw water.

Perfect. Thanks. I have the manuals but not the parts diagram. Dealer didn't have the gasket in stock, so I'll have to order.

I just replaced the thermostat on an Excalibur yesterday. If you ordered the kit from NautiqueParts, it comes with the gasket.

Just wanted to circle back to this. Tried to replace it on the water without success. I ended up needing the lower gasket, too, since I ruined that trying to separate the thermo housing. Once I got that, I pulled the housing off, got it separated with a few good whacks of a hammer and screwdriver, cleaned it up, and buttoned everything up with the new thermostat installed. We celebrated our son's birthday on the lake yesterday afternoon, and she warmed right up to 160.

Sorry for replying on an old thread, but I believe I have a similar situation.

My '07 216 with PCM 330 won't get above 97F today, and does its best to hand around 95F.

From tracing the parts diagram, I'm taking a guess that I need to take the 3 bolts off this thing (attached picture).


Even though White Lake lists this part as 343 Excalibur in the title, I assume it also works on my 330.

I see that WL/NP includes 1 gasket in the kit. Is there a 2nd gasket that I might also have to change if I get into an uncooperative situation? ( I'd much rather spend an extra $5 on a part that I don't end up needing than loose an additional weekend on the water ) If so, do you have the Part Number or WL/NP link?

MichaelD Sorry, I have been out of town. Did you get this figured out? You may need another gasket--depends if you can get the thermostat housing apart easily. GM-TG is the correct thermostat even though it says Excalibur 343. RM0121 is the other gasket is recommend getting. It's only $5. Better to have and not need.

MN Ryan I have the GM-TG & RM0221 from NautiqueParts. ( I took a guess on what second part # was from the parts diagram ).

Do I just have to remove the 3 bolts to separate the housing, or are there additional bolts/screws somewhere?
I got to the lake house & boat a bit after sunset this evening & got the bolts removed, but the top & bottom might as well be super-glued together. I've got a feeling this will require some "convincing" to separate Saturday AM ( I didn't want to take drastic measures tonight as it was getting dark ) with hammers & prying tools.

Finally got it replaced this morning & running on the water again.

For the benefit those who have to do a thermostat replacement in the future:
Plan on having to use a little convincing (rubber hammer, screwdriver to pry) to open the housing after removing the 3 bolts. (Be careful - the bolts have a washer on them, thus don't drop them).
Once you've had to take extraordinary measures to open, plan on replacing the RM0221 gasket (circle) also. This is in addition to the "triangle" gasket WL ships with GM-TG that also needs replacing.
Plan on spending considerable time (more than half the job time) removing the gaskets from the metal housing ( using putty knives, etc.) & maybe even a wet-dry vac to clean up your mess.

By the time the job was done, I had removed the red cover, flame arrestor, 4 water hoses, and top & bottom halves of the housing.
The job took me ~3 hours. In the rare event you don't have to fight to open the housing or gasket cleanup, you might be able to do this in ~30-45 minutes.
If you can pry & avoid a hammer, you might be lucky to only have to clean up 1 gasket instead of 2.
