    New Decal Placement

I am re-doing the decals and striping on my Sport Nautique, after stripping the whole boat I am going to buff and pollish it. Will it affect the adhesion of the new decals if the boat is polished and waxed before they are installed? Or should I wait till they are on before waxing? Also, are there any places to get Nautique decals other than the dealers, aftermarket, etc? Any advice would be great.

    Jc,

One thing you may want to consider, if your putting anything other than the same style decal on the boat. Your going to have shadows from the original decal. There is no way to buff out all of the uv fading on your gel. The decals will not be affected by the wax job.

My opinion, buff, polish your boat. Wipe the area where the decal, or pin stripe tape goes with rubbing alcohol, do not let the alcohol dry, wipe it off with a clean rag. Apply your new decals. and after the decals, and tape are in place, then wax the boat

Here are some pics of my friends sport that he just had new decals put on. He also just got a New Dimensions tower for it also, and it looks pretty sweet. They buffed the boat after they took the sport decals off and all the color looked pretty even.

Looks great, those are the exact decals I was thinking of. Are they the factory ones or are they custom? You would'nt know their size and price? This website is great!

Factory decals, I think they were @$125-150/side. They are really nice, the "Nautique" letters are raised drip mold.
