    1997 Ski Nautique gt40 Won't Start

I have a 97 Skit Nautique with a GT40 in it. While out on the water I tried to kill the boat but the ignition switch was loose.... long story short the key got turned around a little and the starter engaged while the boat was running. The boat shut off immediately and would not restart. I assumed that there was too much draw and I blew a relay or fuse.
While trying to start the boat later in the day the starter clicked repeatedly but the engine did not turn over. After a few attemps there was just only a single click (not from the starter) from the two relays mounted at the back of the boat.
Later in the day while trying to resolve the relay issue the boat lost power completely (no gauges) after turning the key, which I assumed is caused by one of the 3 breakers at the back of the engine tripping. The breaker appears to be on a magnetic reset allowing power to the gauges after a few minutes.
Unfortunately I can figure out what is causing the breaker to trip.
my current thinking is that the starter solenoid went causing the clicking, then one of the two relays mounted at the back of the engine went after trying to start it..... and now the breaker flips repeatedly.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated as I am not overly familiar with the engine and how to trouble shoot it. Everything above is purely speculation on my part and I could be totally out to lunch. Thanks in advance for any tips.

I would make sure the switch is working correctly and then i would check the fuse that is typically inline down by the battery.

The battery fuse on the positive lead has been deleted by the previous owner. The switch is working right now, however there is a breaker that is tripping. I get get power to everything initially then after trying to start it I lose power for 5mins
