I own a 67, 85 ,89, 92 ,97 and 08 the only one I worry about repair wise in the future is the 08 . That boat is like a model A compared to the newer boats.

I said this and commented that there were a growing number of these failures occurring about a year ago and got flamed. Truth be told this will happen more and needs to be considered when looking for a used, out of warranty boat.

The good news from what I can see here is that those boards should be able to be reworked and I would suspect Murphy should have replacements as well. The very bad news is that typically companies like Murphy have agreements with companies like Nautique that make Nautique the sole distributor of the product and replacement parts. So expect a severe case of BOHICA (bend over, here it comes again). A quick call to Murphy's tech support will get you the scoop on where you stand there.

I do a fair amount of this type of work only in the computer field. If you call Murphy tech support I would recommend telling them you have a display that is doing X and would like to know if they have a repair/rebuild service or if you have the part number for the board it they have a replacement. It would be interesting to hear if they'll supply tech support or repair components to the public.
