I just noticed some rust on part of the crank pulley (EX 343). Should I paint, replace, or not worry about it?

My current thought is to paint over the winter (brush on primer and paint) and leave it on. I read that you have to remove the middle bolt that connects to the crankshaft to get the pulley out and there's potential for oil loss when installing (or reinstalling). I'm not sure if there's any harm in leaving it as is.
I ordered a backup belt to carry on the boat.Previous:

i replaced the one on my 2007 mercury black scorpion last winter and it was an easy job other than having to lay in the rear locker to get at it. one center bolt, 4 perimeter bolts. yours looks easier to get at and easier also because the bolts are visible--one mine they were all recessed inside the pulley. i didn't have any oil leakage when doing it.
