    Software Updates for 2013 G23?

    Hey guys,

Pretty new to the system that's on the G23s. I have a 2013 and was curious if there are updates to be made to the Linc system via USB. Has anyone done this and know where to find downloads for the Linc system if there are updates?

I’ve done it. Got the files from the dealer. But generally if it’s working ok then just leave it as is. You don’t gain any additional features or anything by updating it. Only reason I did mine was I had an issue with my gps and they wanted to rule out the screen software.

i'm with nohiam I have had couple of up grades over the years but never saw any changes to boat or instruments would be interesting if they would tell you what the up grades do like apple does at least you have something to look forward too... your dealer can send up grade to your computer and you can put on a finger flash and then insert in boat to down load...

The only thing I can think of that you may need an update for is when your ballast sensors go kaput. The new ones require an update.

Thanks guys. I did have one fluke on the water where I filled all ballast up and for some reason or another the belly wouldn't empty. Pumps were running fine and I just changed the impellers so couldn't have been a pump issue unless something was clogged down below. But it felt like a bug. Eventually it drained but it took a couple cycles on and off and then about 20 minutes of draining.

Not 100% sure if it was software related, could have been a sensor. So in the case that a sensor needs to be replaced there's some form of programming that needs to be done to get it to read properly?

If the pump was physically running then that’s not a software issue. Did you confirm the pump was running or it took a bunch of cycles for it to kick on?

Yea the Pump was running for sure. No issues there. Just wouldn't drain for one reason or another. Or it was draining and just wasn't reading properly in the ballast readings

I would say that’s an impeller issue or something clogged in the pick up tube. You can hear when the pumps start to run dry it’s a very distinct sound I would say your software is fine.

nohlan_4 yea I'm thinking something is clogged. I replaced all the impellers for the three pumps this season. If something is clogged in the pickup tube would it impact all pumps or are there independent pickup tubes on these Gs like the older generation boats (don't remember what the underside of the hull looks like).
